Hours: 36 hrs p/w, 52 weeks per year
In preparation for forthcoming retirement of our much-loved caretaker, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, conscientious and self-motivated Caretaker who will play a key role in further enhancing our school site so that we have the highest standards in safety and cleanliness to welcome the whole community.
About you:
Are you someone who is reliable, proactive, hardworking and flexible with a positive outlook on life? Have you got good organisational skills – with the ability to plan, schedule and evaluate your own work? Do you take a genuine pride in your place of work- have you got DIY skills and the ability to competently carry out minor repairs, general maintenance and decorating? Will you be able to demonstrate good inter-personal skills with all members of our school community – children, parents/carers, colleagues, governors and the many visitors that come to St Catherine’s? Do you enjoy learning new skills and keeping up to date with procedures? We will need you to be jointly responsible for Health and Safety on site, and that includes security and maintenance systems. Are you able to use a PC and navigate school maintenance systems such as Statlog? Are you committed to being fully involved in all aspects of school life at St Catherine’s – upholding our Catholic ethos and values on a day to day basis and at special weekend and evening events too? Yes? Then why don’t you apply to be the caretaker in our friendly school!
We can offer:
* A supportive Business Manager who will carry out a comprehensive induction.
* A friendly staff who work together and support one another.
* Governors who are understanding and ambitious for our school
* A caring school community with supportive families and a thriving parents association
* A commitment to your ongoing training
Shift Pattern:
Monday to Friday: 07:00 to 12.30 (break 10.00 to 10.30) and then 16.00 to 18.15
Further ad-hoc overtime hours will be necessary for occasional evening meetings and PTA events at the school.
Visits to the school are strongly encouraged. Please call us to make an appointment with Kim McKenzie our School Business Manager, office@stcatherines.barnetmail.net or 020 8440 4946.
Visits may take place from w/c 4th November 2024 and interviews will take place on Tuesday 26th November 2024.
