Formal training in architecture or interior architecture is a must. Being organised and being detail-oriented is a key part of the job. Having a capacity to think on your feet and be commercially minded is essential. Good math skills are a must. You must be technically oriented and be able to debate M&E, Joinery, Decoration and Plumbing concepts with contractors and tradespeople. You must be able to quickly pick up clinical / medical design aspects.
You will be working on two to three projects from start to completion including all interior architectural research, concept designs and interior architectural presentations, working seamlessly with contractors. You will manage your work autonomously and be responsible for the outputs. The right candidates can expect conversion to a full-time role and meaningful career progression.
Key Skills

Key Responsibilities
* Develop and produce detailed architectural drawings and visualisations using 3D CAD software: CAD for GA’s, Elevations, Partitions, RCPs, M&E (HVAC / Small Power / Plumbing) and Flooring and including sections, construction details and other technical design aspects
* Site visits to gather information and ensure compliance with specifications
* Creating mood boards and concept designs
* Researching and creating presentations for all interior architectural fixtures and finishes (floor, wall, ceilings)
* SketchUp drawings for joinery designs including panelling, windows and full interior architectural detailing
* FF&E research, presentations and bespoke designs as well as pricing and obtaining procurement information
* Prepare contract packs, construction drawings, finishes schedules, technical documentation and specifications
* Maintain accurate records of project changes and updates
Additional Responsibilities (play a supporting role)
* Engage and manage Building Control as necessary to achieve Plan Assessment
* Prepare Planning Permission documentation and applications to Local Councils
* Ensure design intent and quality are achieved through site visits
* Keep contractors and suppliers on track in a friendly manner
You must have the following experience
* 3-5 years as an Architectural / CAD Technician in a UK-based architectural practice
* Proficient at producing technical drawings across RIBA stages 3-5
* Experience with retail, office or medical clinic fitouts in London
* Good knowledge of the UK building regulations
* Professional and friendly communication skills
* Good project management and organisational skills
* Be open to supporting ad-hoc tasks like designing marketing material
* Good knowledge of suppliers and supply chain
* Experience in sourcing interior/exterior finishes and fixtures from a wide spectrum
