Base pay range
Starting salary ranging from £77332 - £80260 per annum + £2,928 additional allowances.
In addition, you will also receive a substantial benefits including 28 days annual leave + bank holidays, an excellent civil service pension (28.9% employer’s contribution), flexible working conditions with some home working available.
Job Purpose
To lead and provide direction for the Operational Workforce Planning & Deployment team, driving the delivery and outcomes of the function, to effectively manage the in-year workforce deployment plan, in line with corporate priorities, balancing the supply of workforce resources across the MPS.
Effective leadership of the processes which deliver decisions regarding the supply (i.e. deployment) of officers/staff to meet the workforce plan, meeting broader business needs.
Providing analysis, insight and commentary specific to deployment activity and collaborating with the Corporate Workforce service, taking business insights and risks to inform scenario planning and modelling for both internal and external stakeholders.
Enable effective decision making through recommendations impacting people, governance & compliance and finance/budget management for the frontline. Providing strong and clear workforce planning advice and guidance to support wider corporate activities, ensuring workforce planning implications and risks are identified and planned for.
Leading a proactive, customer centric deployment function and partnering with the wider teams to bring valuable insights, clear and open communication and delivering a new Met for London.

Leadership & Direction

Technical Knowledge
* Strong ability to translate complex data and analysis into meaningful reports to influence and support decision making with senior leaders.
* Detailed knowledge of end-to-end workforce planning, the deployment processes within this, Metropolitan Police HR processes, policies and landscape with strong experience in managing high-volume and routine HR delivery across workforce planning, and deployment.
* Highly effective organisational skills, prioritising tasks appropriately for self and team, managing and delivering work in an orderly and structured way.
* A passion to build strong relationships with senior leaders, effectively leading and communicating with confidence on risks, options and solutions.

* Sets the bar in excellent communication skills to build effective relationships and network with stakeholders across all media and in person.
