The Parks Trust is an independent charity that cares for over 6,000 acres of parkland and green space in Milton Keynes. This includes the river valleys, ancient woodlands, lakesides, parks, and landscaped areas alongside the main roads that represent 25% of the city.

Position
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an 18-month training scheme and develop a career in amenity landscaping. Our training scheme includes attendance of appropriate courses and NPTC Certification. Subject to training and practical criteria being met, this role will become permanent with further training opportunities available.
You will work within a small team out in our parks, grid road landscapes, and woodland to carry out shrub pruning, weed control, coppicing, and hedge and tree works. You will be working outside in all seasons.
Hours for this role: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday.
Salary is £24,000 per annum *subject to change as of 01 April 2025 as part of our annual salary review*
This is a fixed-term contract for 18 months.
Requirements
You may already have some interest or experience in the landscape industry or are attending college on an industry-related course (e.g. horticulture, land management).
You should have good communication skills; be able to apply initiative to your work; follow instructions; and be a fast learner and a good team player. You will need to demonstrate effective time management skills and have a full driving license.
You will be prepared and motivated to take on further training that will help enhance your individual skill levels and be able to communicate effectively with team members, other Trust staff, the general public, and other third parties.
Full driving license is required.
