Salary: Up to £23,400 per annum
The Student Enrichment Officer is a key role within the Progression Support Team. The post holder will provide support to students to ensure they have a positive experience, assisting with the co-ordination of events and activities and encouraging student engagement, to support their progression and transition to University life.
The post holder will assist with facilitating student forums and committees. They will also assist with planning a varied schedule of enrichment activities, including events, clubs and societies and trips and visit and supporting the planning and implementation of induction and arrivals activities.
In addition, the post holder will assist the Progression Support Team, wider Student Experience Team and the Senior Leadership Team and provide support on the Student Support Helpdesk.
ABOUT THE ROLE
1. Support with researching, planning, co-ordinating and implementing suitable and attractive activities and events for international students, engaging with students regarding potential events and encouraging participation and attendance
2. To ensure that venues, catering/refreshments and equipment are booked as appropriate for identified events
3. Develop and maintain relationships with staff and key stakeholders
4. Promote and publicise all events, managing and printing the production of all promotional materials
5. To liaise with tutors and provide support with school excursions
6. To assist with post-event review to improve student experience
7. Support with producing detailed process guides that underpin each event
8. To support with planning Durham University visit days and assist with managing the college allocation process
9. Engage with students regarding sports development activities, working closely with Durham University & Team Durham
10. Conduct and facilitate student/agent tours
11. To assist with producing risk assessments for events and ensuring legal requirements are met
12. Assist with setting up and supporting with ISC student clubs and societies.
13. To assist with facilitating the operation of student forums, events and committees
14. To support with setting up student volunteering opportunities for students with local organisations.
15. Support with organising induction events and activities for students and liaise with key stakeholders regarding arrangements.
16. To work closely with the Marketing Team regarding all ISC events and activities, ensuring events are shared on social media
17. To support with the arrival process for students, safeguarding their welfare on arrival to the UK, in particular under 18’s
18. Assist with arranging transport for student arrivals, accommodation transfers and events and activities.
19. To liaise with accommodation providers during arrivals periods, ensuring the ISC has up-to-date information on student arrivals, and any issues are dealt with as they arise
