We are excited to share this opportunity for an experienced Neurodiversity Practitioner to work within our strong multi-disciplinary team based in Kidderminster, providing NHS and independent neurodiversity assessment and support across Herefordshire, Worcestershire, and the West Midlands.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated team member to play a key part in furthering our work to provide outstanding multi-disciplinary assessment and care for neurodivergent children and adults.
Main duties of the job
Applications are invited from qualified and experienced professionals working in Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Learning Disability Nursing, Social Work and Psychology services.
The successful applicant will have a thorough knowledge of Autism, ADHD, Neurodiversity and Learning Disabilities as well as experience of contributing towards multi-disciplinary assessment and support of neurodivergent children, young people and adults.
They will be motivated, compassionate, and adaptable in their approach. The ability to work flexibly, and to support thoughtful and reflective practice within the team is essential. They will be able to establish positive working relationships with a wide variety of individuals and groups, and will value acceptance and inclusivity.
Applications are particularly welcomed from those who have completed formal training in measures such as the ADOS-2, 3Di or DISCO, however, training will be provided for those who have not yet accessed this.
There will be opportunities to be involved in ongoing service development and research to ensure that services are accessible and meet the needs of the communities we work with. As the provider of our local NHS pathway, we work closely with commissioners and stakeholders across Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Liaison with these networks will be a key part of the role, offering an important opportunity to be at the forefront of the development of local policy and provision.

Job responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the role are:
- To undertake high-quality autism and ADHD (if applicable) assessments, as part of the MDT, including providing initial appointments, neurodevelopmental interviews, and ADOS assessments
- To carry out disclinine-specific assessments, as appropriate, to contribute to a wider exploration of an individual's social, communication, and educational needs.
- To communicate effectively with neurodiverse children, young people and adults, families, internal and external staff
- To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to provide appropriate post-diagnostic intervention and support in a person-centered and individualised way.
- To manage your own varied and complex caseload and to be responsible for completing clinical reports and correspondence in a timely manner.
- To work as part of the MDT to support efficient risk assessment and risk management.
- To liaise with other allied health and education professionals in order to ensure continuity of care across services and work to improve the experience of neurodiverse individuals.
- To make ongoing contributions to service development to ensure that services continue to meet the needs of those we support.
- To design and deliver training within your scope of expertise, both internally and externally.
- To take part in CPD opportunities, both internally and externally.

Qualifications
Essential
14. Professional Qualification in Speech and Language Therapy, Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, or Psychology (including Clinical, Educational, Health, Counselling or Forensic Psychology)
15. Registration with the relevant statutory body (such as HCPC, NMC or SWE) as appropriate to profession.
Desirable
16. Formal training in ADOS / DISCO/ 3Di / ADI-R or equivalent assessment measure
17. Formal safeguarding training (level 3)
