Brook Street Recruitment is delighted to be working on behalf our public sector client to recruit an Assistant Director of Finance to join their team
This is an integral post within the senior management structure of the business with responsibility and accountability for a range of key financial functions. It is a key post, which is crucial to supporting the organisation`s adherence to financial regulations and relevant statutory requirements within finite budgetary constraints.

The post holder will be required to be both a strategic and operational thinker and be dedicated to promoting and delivering successful outcomes, working collaboratively across the organisation to facilitate continuous improvement and value for money.
Hours of work; Currently 36¼ hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
A Flexible Working Hours Scheme is in operation. In view of the level of this appointment, the post holder will be required to work in such a way as to fulfil the obligations of the post.
Criteria
7. Applicants must be fully qualified accountant and have experience of collaborative working at a senior level
8. Minimum of three years` post qualification experience in a senior financial management role in a complex and challenging, large organisation - Large` is defined as an organisation with more than 300 employees or a budget in excess of £5 million) equivalent.
9. Demonstrate an understanding of corporate and financial governance
10. Proven track record of strong leadership skills, developed through leading and motivating a diverse team to achieve high standards of performance and successful outcomes.
11. Strong analytic skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex financial information in written and oral briefings
12. Applicants must have a valid driving licence and a car available for official business use, or access to a form of personal transport that will enable you to meet the requirements of the post in full.
Desirable
13. Previous experience of working in the public sector or an understanding of public sector financial processes
Salary will start on £66,035 and full job spec can be supplied on application
