About the role As the Head of Music at our school, you will have the opportunity to inspire and shape the musical journey of students from Kindergarten through Year 6. Your role will involve coordinating all musical activities, including leading performances, managing the school choir and orchestra, and supporting the development of music across the curriculum. You will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering engaging music lessons, including practical skills and music theory, while fostering creativity and passion for the arts. You will also manage visiting peripatetic teachers, ensuring high-quality teaching across all music disciplines. You will be a key figure in organising school productions and music workshops, and actively promote the growth of the school's music culture. As a mentor and role model, you will guide students on their musical path, offering expert advice and support for both their personal and academic growth. Who we are looking for: We are looking for a passionate and dedicated music educator with a deep knowledge of both classical and contemporary music. You should have excellent teaching skills, with the ability to engage and inspire pupils of all ages. The ideal candidate will have UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), a degree in Music, and experience teaching across various Key Stages. Strong communication, organisational skills, and a commitment to professional development are essential.
