Environment Services are looking for a Allotment Maintenance Assistant to join their Neighbourhood Protection Team WHAT IS INVOLVED? You will be responsible for undertaking a variety of tasks to improve the physical appearance of the allotments. The duties of the postholder are numerous and, whilst the duties and responsibilities specific to this post are not meant to be totally comprehensive, they can be used as a guide to the nature of the role and the part is plays in the overall delivery of the allotment service. The post holder may work alongside staff from Grounds Maintenance, Cleansing, Refuse & Recycling, Civic Pride and Neighbourhood Warden Services and work across all Council service groupings. Competent in the use of machinery / tools relevant to the role. Displaying a willingness to be trained in all aspect of the role Experience in both soft and hard landscaping. Experience in using of a wide range of plant, equipment and machinery relevant to the role (for example, strimmer’s, hedge cutters, rotavators, etc). Experience of speaking and working with the public and other stakeholders. Due to the requirement to drive a County Council vehicle in this role, appointment will be subject to the production of a valid driving licence for the required category of vehicle and the satisfactory completion of an in-house Driver Induction Assessment Please refer to the attached person specification for the full criteria.
