We are now recruiting for the exciting role of Environment and Sustainability Senior Advisor, to be involved in the compliance for game changing technology within the nuclear industry.
This role will be offering advice, support, guidance, and leadership in the field of environmental and sustainability to operational and design functions across a diverse geographical area.
Acting as the CenterPoint for environment sustainability, supporting the business through the SDG compass and on a journey towards NetZero whilst creating, implementing, and performing risk-based assurance activities to ensure that SMR maintains and grows a suitable and scalable environmental management system capable of achieving and maintaining ISO 14001.
* Provide SME advice, guidance, support, and leadership in the field of environmental sustainability to operational and design functions across a diverse geographical area.
* The ability to support the design, implementation and maintenance of environmental management systems in operations to prevent pollution and ensure suitable processes and procedures are in place taking account of relevant standards such as ISO14001.
* The ability to monitor, evaluate and communicate changes in environmental policy, legislation and other requirements that may affect the business and supply chain.
* The ability to understand, lead and manage an environmental auditing programme and advise on suitable assurance for complying with legal and other requirements.
* The ability to use methods and models for calculating, monitoring, and reporting on environmental performance (energy, GHG, waste, water, emissions) using suitable metrics and developing and implementing improvement plans such as Carbon Reduction Plans and Life Cycle Assessments.
* Experience of working with senior management and ability to influence without authority, ability to be bold and constructively challenge senior management where appropriate and supporting regulatory intervention sessions.
* Experience of working across disciplines and with multiple stakeholders within and external to the business where required to ensure successful delivery of projects.
* Familiarity with and ability to lead the business via best practice approaches in sustainability frameworks and protocols e.g. SDG compass and the requirements that drive environmental, social and economic priorities, in support of the creation and implementation of strategies.

Pay and benefits
We anticipate paying a salary of between £40,000 - £52,500 DOE plus:
* Bonus - Performance related target opportunity 12.5%
* Benefits Allowance – £2,200 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package
* Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
* Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days.
* Private Medical Insurance - BUPA single cover health care
* Life Assurance - 6x pensionable pay
* £250 - One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases
