About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Stores Procurement Specialist to join our team at Colas Rail. As a key member of our procurement function, you will be responsible for the purchasing of spares and management of the supplier base for non-strategic purchases of products and services for Rail Grinding/Rail Milling machines.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage inventory levels and ensure timely ordering of materials to avoid stockouts
* Develop and maintain accurate records of stock items, including lead times, costs, and supplier information
* Raise purchase requisitions and manage material quotes in a timely manner
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure compliance with business governance and quality standards
* Manage supplier performance and escalate any issues to the Procurement Team
* Develop and implement accurate warehouse document control to satisfy audit criteria
Requirements
* Previous experience in stores/warehouse procedures and stock control is essential
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work safely and under own initiative
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work as part of a team
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel
* Knowledge of quality systems and management is desirable
