We are seeking a proactive, self-motivated, and experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Advisor to join a Head Office team on a full-time, permanent basis. The primary focus of this lead role is to take a hands-on approach to managing environmental, health, and safety controls, procedures, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead by example, advocating EHS best practices daily.
* Promote and maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
* Serve as the main point of contact for all EHS matters and provide advice to those with delegated EHS responsibilities.
* Approach EHS challenges pragmatically to find effective solutions.
* Prepare, review, and update EHS policies and documentation in collaboration with relevant personnel (e.g., risk assessments, operating procedures, and work permits).
* Coordinate the health surveillance program, analyzing reports with discretion.
* Lead incident investigations in partnership with responsible individuals.
* Develop and manage content for the regular EHS Bulletin.
* Oversee vehicle and driver fleet management, ensuring full compliance with regulations.
* Administer existing safety accreditations and progress the company towards ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications.
* Manage internal and external training, liaising with Line Managers, leading monthly training meetings, and ensuring high quality.
* Oversee DSE, PPE, and first aid management, conducting assessments and providing consultations.
* Develop and coordinate environmental management systems and practices.
* Act as Chief Fire Marshal, maintaining the fire risk assessment, overseeing fire safety checks, and leading the Fire Marshal Team.
* Conduct regular premises inspections and support department leads in addressing remedial actions.
* Ensure the company complies with all statutory environmental, health, safety, and welfare requirements.
* Ensure periodic safety inspections, maintenance, and testing are completed on time by both internal and external providers.
* Lead periodic EHS Committee meetings and ensure timely completion of agreed actions.
* Stay updated with industry and legislative changes, advising Senior Management on compliance and implementing necessary changes.
* Maintain the accident book, report incidents, monitor investigations, and ensure appropriate remedial actions are taken.
* Take on additional tasks in line with skills and experience as needed.
Requirements:
* NEBOSH General Certificate is essential; NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
* Experience in manufacturing, semiconductor, engineering, or warehousing environments is preferred.
* Strong organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail and confidentiality.
* Ability to multi-task and adapt to shifting priorities.
* Flexible, conscientious attitude towards work.
* High standard of written and verbal communication, with a professional phone manner.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work autonomously.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential.
