Brief Description
This is an exciting unique opportunity for a committed, highly motivated & enthusiastic individual to join our Planning Assurance team. As a Planning Assurance Analyst, your role will be to support the business to ensure successful delivery of our projects. As an integral part of the business, the Planning Assurance team is responsible for assuring project plans across the Major Projects Portfolio (MPP) - including exciting Enhancements jobs at Darlington & Leeds. The ideal candidate must have relevant experience in Project Planning and Primavera.
About the role (External)
To implement planning assurance activities on behalf of the project team(s) for a programme/Portfolio of work, in line with company and legislation standards and are compliant with Project Acceleration in a Controlled Environment (PACE). To assist the supply chain with Programme Integration and assist the Project teams with claims and extensions of time.
Day to day, your activities will include:
1. Ensuring project plans are submitted within agreed timeframes & stays in sync with periodic deliverables & Network Rail processes & standards.
2. Monitoring project plan key performance milestones and supply periodic progress reports/dashboards.
3. Manage data assurance activities; verify data requirements undertake analysis, identify trends & review, and interpret analysis.
4. Use of Acumen FUSE to compile FUSE metrics to report schedule health checks on project plans.
5. Maintain the NR schedule adherence milestones within the Primavera P6 programmes on key projects.
6. Working with the NR Portfolio Managers & Supply Chain to ensure good baseline management is in place & supply support for change control process across projects.
7. Organise periodic meetings with the supply chain/NR project teams to review & discuss FUSE dashboard outputs.
8. Provide Planning Assurance support & guidance to the Programme & Portfolio Managers.
Essential
* Relevant successful experience in the planning and delivery of construction/engineering projects.
* Relevant successful experience in using a number of project management scheduling tools & techniques including Primavera.
* Demonstrable skills in initiating and building positive working relationships with customers, their team and stakeholders.
* Demonstrable experience of being output driven, prioritising work to deliver on time and taking ownership in their role.
* Demonstrable experience of being focused on their own and others' safety and in understanding the implications of their behaviour and the safety rules.
* Demonstrates an ability to make timely decisions and to think ahead.
* Demonstrable understanding of how the role influences the customers' experience.
Desirable
* Membership of a relevant professional body.
* Understanding of the engineering requirements of work on the railway.
