The Position
Surrey Cricket Club is recruiting an experienced manager to support and lead logistics operations within the Kia Oval. We are looking for someone experienced and used to working in a fast-paced logistics or retail management environment.
Your top priority will be the organisation and management of the logistics team and the smooth running of the logistics operation. Excellent inventory management and the ability to work efficiently in a team are essential for success in this position.
You will need to be available for pre and post-event day set up, being on hand on event day to help sort any issues with equipment or stock. You will be responsible for training logistics team members and ensuring productivity within the team.
What you’ll do
* Create and implement best practice logistics principles and processes across the team to improve operational and financial performance.
* Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements.
* Monitor quality, quantity and delivery times of staff uniform and assets.
* Manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results.
* Planning and execution of matchday duties including liaising with the operations/staffing team as to what team members are required.
* Ensure that all functions under supervision operate in accordance with health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and spectators.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have the following skills/requirements:
Essential:
* Candidates must be aged 18 or over with a full right to work in the UK.
* Proven management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development.
* Highly skilled communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally.
* Strong planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects through to completion and to manage competing priorities.
* Proven analytical, problem solving and organisational skills
* Self-motivated, flexible and works well under pressure.
* Proactively contribute to creating a good team atmosphere.
* Anticipates and overcomes obstacles.
Desirable:
* Can commit to 80% of the seasons fixtures.
Benefits
£19.80 per hour excluding holiday pay.
