The role of Deputy Security Controller offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact within a leading defence equipment supplier to the UK Military and over 40 other armed forces globally. This position is crucial for maintaining the highest security standards, ensuring the safety of personnel, facilities, and assets. The successful candidate will support the Security Controller in implementing and overseeing robust security policies, fostering a secure and positive work environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Maintain security accreditations, acting as the primary contact for audits.
2. Manage, review, and maintain the company security risk register, implementing preventive measures to mitigate risks.
3. Develop, implement, and review security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant Security Frameworks.
4. Chair regular security meetings and provide security advice to the Board.
5. Assist in managing security guards, key issues/registers, site security equipment, and assets.
6. Manage the BPSS and security clearance process, providing support and guidance to the Personnel Security Administrator, and conducting internal audits for compliance.
7. Implement and maintain personnel security policies aligned with Government standards.
8. Manage document handling and secure asset movements.
9. Ensure mustering and access control measures are regularly reviewed and compliant.
10. Develop and implement incident management policies, including training for key personnel.
11. Investigate breaches, report criminal activity, and liaise with relevant authorities.
12. Drive security awareness through initiatives and staff training sessions.
13. Ensure compliance with the "need-to-know" principle for sensitive assets.
14. Perform any other duties reasonably compatible with the role.
About the Person:
Qualifications / Education:
* Qualified to a minimum of Level 2 in English Language or equivalent (GCSE).
Technical Skills / Experience:
* Proven experience in a Deputy Security Controller role or in quality assurance, auditing, or H&S roles involving process, risk mitigation, and auditing.
* Experience conducting audits and staff security appraisals.
* Experience managing risk and implementing mitigation actions.
* Understanding of risks associated with non-compliance of policies and legislation.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
