Job Overview
At Britvic, our Technical team is responsible for creating our GB new product development (NPD) launches in collaboration with our Marketing and cross-functional teams. We are looking for two undergraduate (BSc) students to join the technical team and assist on liquid development projects.
In this role, you will be working in the Liquid Development Team, collaborating with other Product Developers throughout the project timeline from lab development through to implementation in the factories. Your work will directly impact future Britvic products, and in return, you will have the chance to gain experience in the FMCG industry, develop your formulation and scale-up skills, all while working in a fast-paced environment. You'll have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, from NPD to value engineering and everything in between. All combined with a strong work package and excellent benefits. Key Responsibilities
* Hands-on liquid development in our lab based in Hemel Hempstead
* Scale-up in our GB factories, testing new products & ingredients, including the use of our pilot plant facility
* Support project management from concept through to launch and aligning with key project stakeholders
* Work cross-functionally with product insights, analytical, procurement, etc.
* Other activities will include arranging product testing programs, administration, submitting samples for laboratory analysis, writing up results, and reporting back to key members of the project teams
Qualifications and requirements
* A student currently in the second year of university studies, where the course includes the option of completing a sandwich placement during the third year, following a path to a degree-level qualification in Food Science, Chemistry, or closely related disciplines
* Interest in product formulation is essential
* Interest in process scale-up from laboratory to factory is essential
* Well-developed interpersonal skills, strong relationship-building, and written/verbal communication skills are essential
* Accomplished IT Skills using the Microsoft suite of programs
* Availability for 4-5 days per week in the lab/office in Hemel Hempstead
