The 4-star Mercure Manchester Norton Grange Hotel and Spa is set in tranquil countryside and has its own landscaped grounds with views over the Pennine hills. MAIN DUTIES:
* Organising duties of domestic staff for cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms and changing linen.
* Organising any special guest requirements, eg., cots, hairdryers etc.
* Organising guest laundry.
* Organising transportation of clean linen to floors and all aspects of linen in main Linen Room.
* Ensuring correct turnover of hired linen and controlling this including supervision of linen stocktaking.
* Checking all bedrooms on completion of maids work (with assistants) for any errors in cleaning, toilet and maintenance requirements.
* Organising the cleaning of all public areas.
* Ensuring stocks of cleaning materials are properly controlled and issued. Placing orders for cleaning materials to management for authorisation.
* The checking and controlling of all invoices relating to housekeeping goods and linen.
* Organising periodical cleaning of upholstery, curtains, carpets and bedding etc.
* Responsible for training of Housekeeping staff and ensuring staff attend training sessions.
* Checking of bedroom folders and replenishing of literature and stationery as required.
* Taking care of lost property.
* To build an efficient team and ensure a continued improvement in their motivation by regular consultation and by taking an active interest in their welfare.
* To prepare your work rota in consultation with Management in order to ensure Management / Trainee Housekeeper relief on your days off / holidays etc.
* To ensure that all shower heads are removed and cleaned on a three monthly basis in line with Health & Safety Regulations.
* Any other duties required by the Manager.
* Adhere to Health & Safety Regulations to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
* Assist in Duty Management shifts when necessary.
* Implement COSHH and Risk Assessments within the department.
* To carry out appraisals of all staff within the department.
* To carry out departmental inductions and job chats with all new members of staff.
* To carry out Departmental Communication Meetings, submitting minutes, along with Health & Safety Reports, PPE etc., on a monthly basis.
* To forecast training in the department.
* Opera trained.
* Working Weekends in Mandatory in this Role
