Children in Care Social Worker - North East Lincolnshire Council

Are you a passionate and experienced Social Worker dedicated to improving the lives of children in long-term care?
North East Lincolnshire’s Children’s Services is seeking a highly motivated and skilled qualified Social Worker with at least 3 years post-qualifying experience, including significant experience of working with children in long-term care, to join our dedicated Children in Our Care team.
About the Role:
As a Children in Our Care Social Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality social work services to children and young people in long-term care placements. You will:
* Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people, understanding their individual needs and aspirations.
* Regularly visit children in their homes, ensuring all statutory requirements are met and their well-being is paramount.
* Develop and implement effective care plans that promote permanence, stability, and positive outcomes.
* Support children to maintain and develop positive relationships with their families where appropriate.
* Help children understand their history and life story, promoting a strong sense of identity.
* Work collaboratively with young people to develop their skills and prepare them for a successful transition to independence.
* Contribute to achieving permanence for children in a timely manner through various pathways.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with relevant legislation and policies.
* Work within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

About You:
* You are a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
* You have a minimum of 3 years post-qualifying experience in a statutory children’s social work setting.
* You possess demonstrable experience of working directly with children in long-term care.
* You have a thorough understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relating to children in care.
* You are skilled in assessment, planning, intervention, and review.
* You are an excellent communicator with the ability to build rapport with children, young people, families, and other professionals.
* You are organised, self-motivated, and able to manage your own workload effectively.
* You are committed to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children.
