Band 6 District Nurse

We are looking to appoint a Band 6 District Nurse into our friendly and supportive Kingswinford District nursing team. You must have effective communication and negotiation skills.
As an advocate for our patients, you need to have the ability to inspire people at all levels. This post would require that you had an understanding of the expanding role of community nursing and would have the commitment to take it forward. You will need a sound understanding of the current primary care agenda, with excellent communication skills and effective leadership and decision-making skills. You will need to be innovative and able to work autonomously whilst promoting a positive and supportive learning environment for team members and students. This would be an excellent opportunity to develop your leadership skills in supporting the team leader.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder is responsible for the ongoing assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation ofprogrammes of care.
The post holder will carry out all relevant forms of care and will take responsibility for caseload holders in their absence. The management of the work area, clinical caseload, Including supervision and development of staff.

Qualifications and Education
Essential
1. First level Registered Nurse
2. Nurse Presciber
3. Degree in District Nursing or equivalent (Specialist practitioner qualification in District Nursing)
4. Evidence of continual professional development
5. Must hold a Specialist Community Practitioner - District Nursing qualification and/or be registered as a V150/V300 nurse prescriber.
Knowledge and Training

6. Demonstrate knowledge of research-based practice
7. Have knowledge of major NHS issues
8. Post registration experience to include: Evidence of mentoring/Project working/Specialist training/Management and development of others
9. Willing to undertake Band 6 competencies
