Job Overview The Essex Perinatal Mental Health Service are embedding the mental health family group conference model within the service, using this model to support the needs and recovery of more women across Essex. E xciting opportunity for a B5 with a qualification of a graduate certificate (L6) or postgraduate certificate (L7) delivering the national curriculum for Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioners to join our dedicated team in the implementation of this model within the service supporting the think family approach. The service operates from 5 hubs across Essex, providing specialist assessment/intervention for women at risk of serious mental illness/complex disorders. Based at either a North or South facing hub this role will support the delivery of the MHFGC model across the specialist Community perinatal mental health service, offering women across Essex the adult FGC model, either with a co working model with secondary services or the perinatal practitioner and empower women and their support network to take a lead role in their recovery and care. The successful candidate will lead to the ongoing development/service design as we continue to improve delivery of care, clinical practice and partnership working with key services in maternity, health visiting, and social care, working within the multi-disciplinary team framework together with our Practitioners, Psychologists, Consultant Psychiatrists, Social workers, Occupational therapist, support workers and Nursery Nurses. Main duties of the job To support the development of strengths based care plans created through the MHFCG sessions, providing sensitive and timely support to mothers, their families and carers. Identifying individuals of the support network that would benefit from carers assessment and refer appropriately. During the work with clients to provide evidence based psycho education as part of the recovery journey. To facilitate the key stages of the MHFCG under the guidance of the MHFCG coordinator, supporting the information gathering, family meetings and reviews. To communicate information from the My Care, My Recovery documentation mothers and families as well as to perinatal colleagues, promoting effective multidisciplinary working and therapeutic outcomes for mothers. To deliver safe and effective psychological informed interventions through the group program. To deliver safe and effective psychological informed interventions such as behavioural activation and graded exposure to mothers on service caseload. This will be agreed at MDT and supervised by a qualified psychologist in accordance with professional governance standards for delivery of psychological work. To manage clinical risk within the boundaries of the role and in line with Trust policy and procedures, utilising supervisions in managing mental health and safeguarding child and adult risk. To manage endings appropriately and safely with mothers, families, and carers.
