Poulton-le-Fylde SLCN Support Assistant A thriving Poulton-le-Fylde school is actively looking for an SLCN Support Assistant to join their KS1 team. With a strong existing support staff force already present in the school, the headteacher is looking to add to this valuable team. The hired SLCN Support Assistant will be working one-to-one and in mainstream classrooms. Job Description: You will be responsible for providing support to students with Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN) in an educational setting. This role involves assisting with communication exercises, implementing individualised support plans, and helping students develop their language skills. Collaborating closely with teachers and speech therapists, the successful candidate will ensure the specific needs of each student are met. About You: A highly motivated individual with a passion for supporting students with SLCN. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a classroom environment. You will also hold GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths. Required Qualifications: GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths Experience working with children or individuals with SLCN Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Education: A relevant qualification in education, special educational needs, or speech and language therapy would be advantageous. Experience: Prior experience working in a school or educational setting, particularly with students with SLCN, is highly desirable.
