We are working with an Electronics Manufacturer to find a capable engineering manager with a specific focus on Software Engineering, Data Engineering, and Python Development!
This is very much a “hands-on”, delivery-focused role – we are looking for someone who can deliver first-class data engineering solutions in both a hands-on and managerial capacity.
You will be working closely with electronics and embedded software engineering teams, supporting the development of new Condition Monitoring and Precision Measurement Sensors and assisting with asset management, condition monitoring, maintenance management, remote diagnostics, business energy monitoring, and more.
The overall designs will cover software applications, electronic hardware and PCBs, microcontrollers, extensive databases, and a range of APIs for both internal and external use.
Your Key Responsibilities:
1. Continuous development and improvement of processes.
2. Oversee the design of new products and plan the engineering resources required for new projects as the business requires.
3. Developing the ability of the Engineering Leads to lead high-performing teams.
4. Keeping senior management up-to-date on project delivery and progress.
5. Escalation point for projects.
6. Ensure that the Customer’s requirements are met and that the Engineers and Project Managers are supported.
7. Direct engineering resources to produce new designs for a varied customer base.
8. Commercial acumen facilitating involvement in bids and tenders. A key role in setting strategy for the company.
Your Key Requirements:
1. Qualified to degree level in an Engineering related subject (computer science, software, electronic/electrical/systems engineering).
2. Proven experience in managing a small team of engineers and data scientists.
3. Demonstrable detailed knowledge of data engineering and Python development.
4. Additional skills in Java development, SQL, embedded software, and electronics would be useful.
