We are looking for a skilled Financial Modelling Analyst who will play a crucial role in building, maintaining, and updating complex financial models. You will support decision-making, forecasting, and budgeting for various product lines and sophisticated debt products. This role involves collaborating with multiple departments—including investment, underwriting, risk, and origination teams—to provide actionable insights and enhance our financial tools and models.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Modelling:
* Build, maintain, and update complex financial models to support decision-making and forecasting.
* Develop analytical tools that enable deal teams to analyse lending opportunities effectively.
* Create portfolio models consisting of underlying loans for securitization purposes.
Financial Analysis:
* Demonstrate deep understanding of financial concepts like Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and Net Asset Value (NAV).
* Analyse large datasets to support business strategies and provide actionable insights.
* Support the finance team in developing revenue models and optimizing portfolio performance.
Automation and Reporting:
* Automate routine reports and build user-friendly models using Excel VBA and SQL.
* Produce clear and straightforward outputs from complex models for non-technical stakeholders.
Collaboration and Communication:
* Collaborate with various teams to gather data and improve analytical processes.
* Manage multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Communicate complex concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Required:
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a related quantitative field.
* Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in financial modelling, particularly in debt finance.
* Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel and VBA programming.
* Strong competency in SQL.
* Strong mathematical abilities and attention to detail.
* Familiarity with sophisticated debt products, including senior, junior, mezzanine structures, asset-backed leverage, and subscription lines.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to self-correct errors.
* Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing priorities.
* Must be fluent in English.
Desirable:
* Professional certifications like CFA or FRM, or progression towards such certifications.
* Additional language skills are a plus.
