Job Purpose:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Goods Inwards Inspector to join a forward-thinking manufacturing business. The role involves ensuring all incoming goods and materials meet required specifications and quality standards. You will play a crucial role in maintaining compliance with engineering drawings, technical standards, and supplier requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspection & Verification:
Perform detailed inspections of incoming goods, raw materials, and components against engineering drawings, specifications, and purchase orders.
Use precision measuring equipment to ensure dimensional accuracy and tolerances and visual inspection techniques to inspect welding details.
Review and verify supplier documentation, including certificates of conformity and test results.
Documentation & Reporting:
Record inspection results and non-conformances within the quality management system.
Prepare detailed reports on inspection activities and findings.
Maintain accurate records to ensure traceability of materials.
Non-Conformance Management:
Identify and document non-conforming goods and collaborate with suppliers to resolve issues.
Assist in root cause investigations and the implementation of corrective actions.
Collaboration:
Work closely with procurement, engineering, and production teams to address quality concerns.
Liaise with suppliers to support continuous improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.
Compliance & Standards:
Ensure adherence to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and other relevant quality standards.
Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.Key Requirements:
Proven experience in a similar role, such as Goods Inwards Inspector or Quality Inspector, preferably within manufacturing.
Proficient in reading engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Skilled in using precision measurement tools and inspection equipment.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and non-conformance processes.
Understanding of materials commonly used in manufacturing applications.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.What's on Offer:
