At Bradley Barton Primary School, we are dedicated to providing an inclusive and nurturing environment for all our students. We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic Family Support Worker to join our committed team. This role is pivotal in helping children and families navigate various challenges that may hinder educational progress and personal development.
You will offer a complimentary service to existing school staff, focusing on identifying and addressing the unique needs of children and their families. Your role will involve a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
1. Establishing strong working relationships with parents and carers, facilitating their involvement in their child’s education, and engaging them proactively in discussions to identify suitable support measures;
2. Assessing and tailoring early intervention strategies and preventative support mechanisms that cater to the varied needs of parents/carers and pupils, ensuring a bespoke approach to each situation;
3. Collaborating with key stakeholders, including the family intervention service, educational psychologists, and external agencies, to develop a holistic understanding of each family’s circumstances and collaboratively enhance service delivery;
4. Liaising effectively with outside agencies, schools, and families to ensure seamless communication and intervention pathways, prioritising timely support to mitigate risks and promote a positive learning environment;
5. Maintaining accurate and confidential records of all interactions, interventions, and progress, ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies and promoting transparency in communication with appropriate parties;
6. Promoting the overall well-being of pupils by being a proactive advocate for their wider health, social, and educational needs, ensuring that barriers to learning are addressed holistically through joint efforts with parents and a multi-agency approach.
