Company Description
Catch22 exists to help build a society where everyone has a good place to live, good people around them, and a fulfilling purpose. We call these our '3Ps'. We achieve this in two ways. First, we improve lives on the frontline through the delivery of public services. Secondly, we use our knowledge to change 'the system', to fix the complex web that can trap and disempower those it was set up to help. With the heart of a charity and the mindset of a business, we are uniquely placed to deliver on this challenging agenda.
Job Description
You will work as a Substance Misuse Practitioner Apprentice in our Surrey Young Persons Substance Misuse Service. The Surrey Young Person’s Substance Misuse service (SYPSMS) offers one-to-one support to young people and their families, a 24-hour help line, counselling and pharmacological support, as part of a tailored recovery approach for young people aged 11 to 25 years old. Using a harm reduction approach, which has the service user at the heart of what we do, we can provide one-off targeted education and harm reduction sessions, as well as more specialist interventions for those who require a greater level of support.
Alongside your learning and development within the workplace, you will be completing the Level 3 Youth Support Worker apprenticeship. This apprenticeship will develop knowledge, skills, and behaviours in how to deliver a supporting role with young people aged 11-25 to promote their personal, social, and educational development. Youth support work provides a holistically supportive, positive professional relationship with young people, ensuring the relationship is rooted in young people’s own journey and led by them. It creates opportunities for young people to develop their voice and views and learn about themselves and society using informal education methods within the context of the professional relationship.
As a Substance Misuse Practitioner Apprentice, you will develop your knowledge and skills in understanding why young people use substances and the skills to engage with the young people, parents, and carers.
