Conveyancing Legal Assistant Southampton, Hampshire Full-time, Office-Based Join a Leading Conveyancing Team at this established Southampton Legal Practice A multi-office legal practice in Southampton seeks an organised and enthusiastic Conveyancing Legal Assistant to support a busy residential property team. Your Role As a Conveyancing Legal Assistant, you provide essential support to the fee earners with a wide range of conveyancing tasks, including: File Management : Opening, maintaining, and closing residential conveyancing files from instruction to post-completion. Client Liaison : Acting as the first point of contact for clients, estate agents, and third parties, ensuring exceptional communication and updates throughout the transaction process. Drafting Documents : Preparing and completing legal documents, such as contracts, transfer deeds, SDLT forms, and Land Registry applications. Searches and Compliance : Ordering property searches, reviewing results, and ensuring all compliance checks (e.g., ID verification and anti-money laundering) are completed. Post-Completion Work : Managing submissions to HM Land Registry, including registration applications and handling requisitions promptly. Suitability: Conveyancing Experience : ideally 6-12 months experience in a conveyancing or property legal assistant role.
