Maintenance Engineer
£47,000 to £49,000 (Negotiable DOE) plus benefits
A permanent position for a Maintenance Engineer based in the Huntingdon area. This is a great opportunity to make the position your own, you will have full autonomy and be supported by a small team. The company globally is a large, very dynamic and the market leaders in their industry.
The Maintenance Engineer will work with a team of Maintenance Fitters & Electricians for the delivery of a responsive and effective engineering service to production and site operations. Ability to investigate and resolving equipment failures within a timely manner while communicating effectively with the line managers and other departments.
Pro-actively look at new ways of working, new system upgrades and new equipment, all to meet the changing technological challenges.
Main responsibilities for the Maintenance Engineer:
* Repairing and maintaining site equipment and machinery.
* Respond to breakdowns, systematically fault find and identify root cause and then implement solution to prevent recurrence in a fully automated factory.
* Work with production, support groups and suppliers to implement improvement opportunities to increase equipment efficiency and safety and reduce engineering downtime.
* This role will involve working on various different types of equipment including complex hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic control systems.
* Lean manufacturing principles are used on a daily basis, adhering to 5s methodology.
* Ensuring site H&S, site compliance and legislative requirements are upheld.
* Applicants should have previous experience of working as part of an engineering team with excellent knowledge of fault finding techniques and the ability to react and interact in a production environment.
Skills and Qualifications for the Maintenance Engineer:
* Ideally you will be a time served Electrical Engineer to ONC, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 2320 parts 1 & 2 or suitable equivalent qualification.
* You will also be familiar with current IEE 18th Edition regulations.
* A good knowledge and understanding of PLC’s would also be advantageous.
* Fluid transfer / pump experience.
Hours of work for the Maintenance Engineer:
* Rotating 3 shift system of 6am to 2pm Monday to Friday and 2pm to 10pm Monday to Friday and 10pm to 6am Sunday to Thursday
