This Biomedical Science position is suitable for an experienced POCT Associate Practitioner Required Derry to apply on a locum basis to start as a locum with a pay of £15 - £16 P/H.
Beneficial criteria to help be successful in this BMS role include the following:
1. Medical Laboratory Assistant experience
2. Specimen Reception
3. Labelling samples
4. Degree in Biomedical Science or similar
5. Right to Work in the UK (we are unable to provide sponsorship)
6. To provide a comprehensive supporting role to POCT team and all service users for POCT Devices.
7. To train nursing, medical and laboratory staff in the use of all POCT devices, ensuring compliance with the Trust’s POCT Policy and procedures.
8. To assist in ensuring the safe, reliable and continuous functioning of all POCT equipment by providing regular maintenance and troubleshooting.
9. To maintain the upkeep of data-based information such logs, registers, standard operating procedures, maintenance programs and training records.
10. To distribute external quality assurance samples, assist in data collation and the reporting of EQA results.
11. To participate in the quality management program within POCT and Pathology by carrying out departmental and ward audits as necessary.
12. Full time, 37.5 hours per week.
13. 3 month contract initially.
14. Monday to Friday, 9:00 - 17:30.
