At Elizabeth Court Caterham, we are committed to providing compassionate care to our residents in a welcoming and homely environment. A key part of this is ensuring our residents enjoy nutritious, delicious meals every day. We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Cook to join our team and help us continue to meet this standard of care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare, cook, and serve a variety of meals in line with dietary requirements, preferences, and nutritional needs of elderly residents, including specialized diets (e.g., low-sodium, diabetic, pureed).
2. Ensure all meals are cooked to a high standard of taste, presentation, and safety.
3. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen in accordance with health and safety regulations.
4. Collaborate with the Head Chef and Management to plan menus and cater for individual resident needs.
5. Monitor food stock levels, place orders for supplies, and manage kitchen inventory effectively.
6. Adhere to food hygiene practices, including food storage, preparation, and disposal.
Required knowledge & experience:
7. Intermediate or level 3 food hygiene certificate with Cater craft or similar award.
8. Health & safety legislation including control of substances harmful to health (COSHH) and food safety standards.
9. Proven chef and people management experience.
10. Basic knowledge of dietary requirements relating to older people.
11. Safe use of kitchen equipment including knives.

Elizabeth Court in Caterham is home to well trained and helpful staff with rooms for up to 59 residents.
