Successful candidates will be a qualified Mental Health Practitioner and will have experience of working with children and young peoples mental health and emotional wellbeing services.
Compass Bloom MHST is an early intervention mental health and emotional wellbeing service covering Central & West Lancashire. The service delivers evidenced based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health needs.
It is part of the MHST Programme, which has been commissioned following the Transforming Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Care Provision: A Green Paper (2017).
Main duties of the job
You will need to demonstrate in your application that you have a core MHP qualification relevant to mental health, alongside post graduate experience working with children and young people and an understanding of the principles and practice of CBT and clinical supervision.
You will be knowledgeable and experienced in working with CYP with mental health needs; completing mental health assessments, providing practice supervision and support as well as providing specialist care directly to children and young people and families
Applicants must have excellent communication skills and be able to network with other agencies as central to the role.
You must possess a full driving licence and have access to your own transport.

22. Experience of the delivery of specific therapeutic interventions to children, young people or their families ( CBT, solution focused brief therapy.

30. Ability to carry out 1:1 therapeutic mental health interventions with children.
31. Ability to carry out 1:1 therapeutic mental health interventions with families.
32. Ability to conduct group parenting programmes.
33. Ability to work within educational settings to increase mental health awareness within staff group.
34. Ability to conduct mental health assessments of children and young people.
35. Ability to make an assessment of risk and to record and communicate it appropriately.
36. Ability to take appropriate action to mitigate or manage risk.
37. Knowledge of educational environments.
38. Knowledge of safeguarding issues.
39. Knowledge of capacity and consent issues including Gillick competence
40. Full enhanced and current satisfactory DBS disclosure for the role.
41. Ability to personally manage a sensitive, traumatic and potentially emotionally distressing caseload.
42. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
43. Willingness to study further if required
