The post holder will be or willing to work towards being a Specialist Bladder and Bowel Nurse who can inspire, motivate and think differently in order to improve patient care with other key partners and stakeholders in North Cumbria.
Working largely alone and unsupervised, assess patients, plan and implement care in the community (in clinical settings and home visits as appropriate), provide advice and education to patients, carers and colleagues, and maintain associated records.
You will be involved in delivering a range of education, learning experiences and training to other professionals, patients and carers providing a useful and accessible resource to ensure best practice recommendations are implemented.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide clinic and home-based care, including residential and nursing settings.
2. Nursing procedures such as Bladder scanning, vaginal examination, rectal examination, pelvic floor assessment, basic observations to provide an expert Bladder and Bowel assessment.
3. Provide training to patients, carers, and other professionals in a range of settings.
4. Support in the development of the service.
5. Electronic Record keeping.
6. Engage in Supervision and provide supervision to members of the team.
