About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team at a well-established gastro pub in Ayr. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to make a significant impact within a high-quality kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Head Chef: Assist in the planning, development, and execution of a creative and diverse menu that aligns with the gastro pub's reputation for excellence.
* Lead Kitchen Operations: Take charge of kitchen operations in the Head Chef's absence, ensuring consistency in quality, presentation, and service.
* Team Management: Train, mentor, and manage junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
* Maintain Standards: Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations, maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen.
* Stock Management: Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage food cost controls to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
* Menu Development: Contribute ideas for new dishes and menu enhancements, staying current with food trends and customer preferences.
