Regional Manager (Blakemore Retail)
£75k - £80k per annum + Excellent benefits package, including bonus, Company Car and Medical Insurance
Field based within the South (Covering South East England from London area to Bristol and South Wales).

Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Retail Operations Director, as Regional Manager South you will play a pivotal role in in driving the overall performance and growth of our company owned SPAR stores within the South region. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership and operational expertise to oversee a team of Area Managers and ensure the successful execution of our business objectives.
With as passion for retail, you will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of stores and be responsible for driving sales growth, achieving revenue targets and ensuring exceptional customer service across all stores in your region, promoting ‘Brilliant Basics, Moments of Wow, Food For Later, Food For Now’.
Key Tasks/Responsibilities:
1. Team Development / Management: To lead, inspire, empower, support and mentor a team of Area Managers, providing guidance, coaching, and development to enhance their performance. Foster a high-performance culture focused on achieving results and delivering the business strategy.Conduct and ensure performance reviews are carried out across the region, identifying training needs and opportunities for future succession planning.
2. Financial Performance: To work in conjunction with the Retail Operations Director to agree, implement and achieve sales and cost budgets. To drive sales growth, profitability, and market share within the region. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed to grow profitable retail stores.Analyse sales data to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement.Stay informed about industry trends, competition and customer preferences to create innovative sales strategies.Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts in a timely manner to the senior team.
3. Operational Excellence: Ensure efficient and effective operations across the region, including supply chain management, merchandising, and store standards. Drive and initiate continuous improvement initiatives.
4. Customer Focus: Deliver exceptional customer experiences by ensuring high-quality products, excellent service, and a clean, well presented store environment.
5. Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with local communities and participate in community initiatives to enhance SPAR's brand reputation.
6. GovernanceEnsure all legislative requirements are met, including food safety, trading standards and health & safety.

Education/Qualifications/Licences
11. Full Driving License is essential
12. Educated to A Level/equivalent or graduate standard is desirable.
13. Alcohol Sales License holder is desirable (ability to hold a license is essential)
Skills / Abilities / Knowledge / Experience
14. Proven successful track record in a senior leadership retail management multi-site role with a minimum of three years of experience
15. Profound knowledge and understanding of the grocery retail industry, market trends, competitor landscape and customer behaviours
16. Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., POS systems, data analysis tools)
17. Exceptional leadership skills to motivate, inspire and develop a large team.
18. Strong sales and negotiation skills with a proven history or meeting and/or surpassing targets
19. Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
20. Robust analytical and problem-solving aptitude for identifying sales opportunities and creating effective strategies
21. Capability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines with solid organisational and time management
