About the Role
On behalf of our well established Hyperscale Data Centre Delivery & Services Client we are seeking an experienced Cost Manager to join their Project Controls team, focusing on managing costs and schedules for Hyperscale Data Centre projects across EMEA and APAC, with an emphasis on projects in most regions, however for this position although it’s a hybrid role we are looking for someone ideally located within a reasonable commutable distance from London. This role involves overseeing cost management processes, risk assessment, change management, and supporting decision-making through accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop cost estimates, budgets, and baselines to support project decision-making.
* Manage risk identification, mitigation strategies, and associated cost impacts.
* Monitor design and scope changes, oversee change management, and recommend corrective actions.
* Provide real-time cost performance insights via reporting dashboards.
* Oversee external cost consultants and manage cost-related activities, including budget reviews, contractor payments, and cashflows.
* Collaborate with construction professionals to ensure timely resolution of cost-related issues.
Required Skills and Experience
* The ability to challenge and direct external consultants.
* Ideally experience in major construction projects, Hyperscale Data Centre Projects
* Proven experience in delivering construction projects with expertise in cost management and project controls. Strong knowledge of construction processes, MEP systems, and international health and safety standards.
* Proficient in preparing high-quality reports and managing supply and construction contracts.
* Skilled in working with multidisciplinary, geographically distributed teams.
* Excellent organizational and communication skills with fluency in English.
* Degree in a construction or engineering discipline and 8+ years of relevant experience.
* Professional qualifications (e.g., chartered engineer) are highly desirable.
This role requires occasional travel to construction sites.
