Your main aim will be to carry out a range of exterior cleaning activities along with waste management tasks including operation of both static compactors and bailers, reach and wash and jet washes ensuring segregated waste receptacles are available for retailers and that the service road and car parks are clean and tidy. In addition to the service road areas, the waste team are responsible for the cleanliness of service corridors and other back of house areas so general cleaning activities including mopping, sweeping, litter control, polishing and dusting are also a requirement.
In addition to using of standard manual tools such as mops, ketches, cloths, dusters, chemicals and brushes, there will also be the use of both suction cleaning machines, pedestrian and ride on scrubber dryers.
You will be working Monday to Friday between 10:00 to 16:00, 30 hours per week.
Duties / Responsibilities–
1. Ensure that areas are cleaned to the highest standards at all times
2. Maintain Health and Safety standards at all times.
3. Use of chemical competence and COSHH guidelines.
4. Ensure equipment is cleaned, maintained and stored correctly
5. Deal with any customer requests promptly, courteously and delivery of world class customer service.
6. Assist with sustaining a winning destination shopping centre in the heart of Sunderland.

10. Education to at least National Level 1 e.g. GCSEs grades D-G
11. Ability to work independently, proactively and use initiative, while being part of a large team.

13. Cleaning experience is preferred but full training will be provided if necessary
Working Conditions / Salary –
14. Please note you will be working as an External Housekeeper covering 8 hour shifts between 0500 and 160000 on a rolling rota pattern and full-time contract of 30 hours per week.
15. Rate of pay is £11.49 per hour.
