Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Setting Out Engineer to join a growing team. This role will involve site-based work, primarily around Chester, the North West, and North Wales. As a Setting Out Engineer, you will be responsible for setting out on-site works, ensuring accurate measurements, and liaising with project teams to ensure the smooth delivery of civil engineering projects. Key Responsibilities: Setting Out: Perform accurate setting out of works in line with project specifications and drawings, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Surveying: Take and record survey data, verifying dimensions, elevations, and alignments as required. Survey Software: Proficiently use survey software (ideally LSS) for data analysis, calculations, and reporting. Construction Drawings : Be proficient at reading and interpreting construction drawings to ensure alignment with design specifications. Site Coordination : Work closely with site managers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure correct execution of works and resolve any issues that may arise on-site. Quality Control: Monitor and ensure the quality of work is in accordance with engineering standards and project specifications. AutoCAD: Basic understanding of AutoCAD LT for reviewing drawings and marking up changes or adjustments. Survey Equipment: Be proficient in using a total station for surveying and setting out to the required standards and tolerances. Health & Safety: Ensure that health and safety practices are adhered to on-site at all times. Essential Qualifications & Requirements: Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent). CSCS Card (valid and up to date). A minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Setting Out Engineer within the civil engineering sector. Proficiency in reading construction drawings and understanding engineering specifications. Proficient in using survey software (ideally LSS) for data analysis and reporting. Basic knowledge of AutoCAD LT for reviewing and marking up project drawings. Proficiency in using a total station for accurate surveying and setting out tasks. Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with project teams and stakeholders. Full UK driving license (van provided for site travel). Willingness to travel across the North West and North Wales as required.
