Learning Support Assistant
Location: Chorley, Lancashire.
Position: Full-Time Literacy Support Assistant (KS1).
Hours: 8:45 AM – 3:15 PM, Monday to Friday.
Pay Rate: £12.90 per hour.

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated team as a Learning Support Assistant at a welcoming Primary School in Chorley.
Role Overview:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the literacy development of children in Key Stage 1 (ages 5-7). Working closely with class teachers, you will provide targeted assistance in reading, writing, and phonics to help students build a solid foundation in literacy. Your efforts will directly contribute to their confidence and academic progress.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist students in developing reading, writing, and phonics skills through one-on-one and small group sessions.
2. Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective literacy lessons.
3. Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing feedback and adjusting support strategies as needed.
4. Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment, helping students to achieve their full potential.
5. Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure consistent and integrated literacy support across the curriculum.
Requirements:
1. Experience working with children, ideally within an educational setting.
2. A good understanding of literacy development in early years and Key Stage 1.
3. Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate young learners.
4. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards helping children succeed.
5. Relevant qualifications or experience in education, teaching assistance, or child development are desirable.
