The group provides several services to various sectors including the energy and renewable energy sectors, education, commercial/industrial, government, utilities/infrastructure, and leisure.

This is a full-time site-based role in the Stafford area. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ health, safety, and environmental (HSE) experience, with a Level 6 Nebosh Diploma in Health and Safety, Environmental qualification, positive outlook, and attitude, while providing “knowledge-based” practical help, and HSE guidance to project teams.
The HSE Advisor will report to the ACS Construction Director, Project Manager, and SHEQ Manager as required.
Implementation and review of HSE management system, which complies with ISO 45001 and 14001 requirements, and HSE legislation as required.
Manage, implement, and review site documentation i.e. the construction phase plan, environmental management plan, traffic management plan, emergency response plan, waste management (The list is not exhaustive.)
Site Safety Inspector/Auditor assisting with the writing and closeout of observations/reports and advising site/contracts managers on safety issues
Chair Safety meetings with employees, participate in client site-specific meetings and consultative forums i.e. Review internal and subcontractor risk assessment and method statements, COSHH assessments, before works to eliminate risks and implement appropriate control measures
Review Subcontractor Pre-Qualification Questionnaires prior to works
Assist with the development of risk assessments and implement ACS safety-critical operating procedures
Plan, conduct and implement, training for operatives, staff, and management in aspects of HSE where applicable.
Liaison with client regarding HSE-related matters
Assist with Monthly KPI reporting and share with HSE Manager and Board.
Promote a positive behavioural based safety and just culture
Any other tasks in relation to maintaining a safe working environment
5 years’ experience in a Safety, Health, and Environmental Role.
~ Nebosh Health and Safety Diploma or equivalent
~ IEMA Environmental Management certificate
~ Nebosh General Certificate and or Nebosh Construction Certificate
~ Have experience with monitoring and review of working at height activities.
~ Planning/Organizing
~ Computer/Technical Literacy
~ Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)
Nebosh Fire safety and Risk management certificate
Lifting (crane supervisor)
Scaffold inspection cert.
Salary - £40- 45,000 / negotiable depending on experience
