Job Description
My client has an exciting opportunity to join their Centre as a Used Car Buyer .
The Used Car Buyer will be an operational member of the Dealership Team and report to the Sales and Franchise Manager. The role is primarily to purchase vehicles from multiple sources to assist the dealerships achieve their sales and financial targets.
Your day
1. Assisting the Sales Manager in ensuring that optimum used stock levels are maintained to maximise used car sales opportunities.
2. Ensure that used cars are purchased at the correct market value reflecting their age and required preparation costs to comply with company policy.
3. Ensure the procurement and supply of quality used vehicles in order that sales departments can achieve financial and volume targets
4. Develop approved relationships with manufacturers, auction houses and other trade contacts in pursuit of stock acquisition
5. Make purchases in line with the defined stock profile and individual requirements of each business
6. Provide advice and support to Sales Management in respect of retail and trade valuations
7. Provide detailed analysis/reports on purchase activity
8. Monitor 60+ day stock and advise on price re-alignment and assist in disposal / inter-company transfers
9. Monitor vehicle sales mix and volumes to ensure correct replenishment of stock
10. Conduct due diligence in respects of vehicle condition, service history, number of previous owners, outstanding finance, warranted mileage and previous accident damage
11. Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Snows Approved Used Vehicle Programme
12. Always operate within company policy
13. Monitor and provide feedback on the trends and market conditions at auction

14. Knowledge and experience of the retail motor industry, with the ability to accurately appraise vehicles.

20. Sound knowledge of the FCA and Code of Conduct guidelines
21. Strong written and verbal English skills
22. Knowledge and experience of using systems designed to assist with car appraisals
23. PC, Microsoft, web literate.
24. Full, clean driving licence.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 0830 – 1800
Salary- £25K basic plus uncapped OTE
