Your Role
You will be working in a Residential School that provides both education and residential support for children with a range of neurological and associated medical needs. As an Occupational Therapist, your key responsibility will be to help students achieve their physical development goals, providing crucial therapy and support.
Duties
10. Contribute to strategies that promote function and independence, enhancing learning.
11. Implement occupational therapy programmes reflecting the school's Conductive Education ethos.
12. Work collaboratively within a trans-disciplinary team to integrate occupational therapy into the curriculum.
13. Make effective recommendations on equipment and resources that optimize budget use.
14. Ensure the learning environment is well-equipped to support skill development.
15. Promote function and participation, helping students access both curriculum and environment.
16. Support curriculum delivery, ensuring student progress.
17. Maintain excellent care standards and practices.
18. Ensure the health and safety of staff and students.
19. Monitor and maintain equipment, ensuring it is fit for purpose.
20. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
Criteria
21. Qualified Occupational Therapist Status
22. Registered with the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) and Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
23. Knowledge of Cerebral Palsy
24. Understanding of Sensory Integration
