Job summary
Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust are seeking a dynamic, highly experienced Radiographer to join our friendly community team. The role will be 18 hours per week, worked over 3 days (9-3pm) at Ludlow Community Hospital. The role will also include hours (9-5pm) to be worked at Bridgnorth Community Hospital on a bi-monthly basis.
You will be an integral part of our radiology team working to provide an efficient and effective diagnostic imaging service to the community of south Shropshire. Based at Ludlow Community Hospital you will be capable of working autonomously to image patients attending the radiology department either from our Minor injury Unit (MIU), via their GP or visiting Consultants.
Ludlow & Bridgnorth x-ray departments house GE Discovery 656 x-ray units and AGFA PACS systems. The successful applicant must hold a DCR or BSc(Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography and current HCPC registration. You must also possess a minimum of 3 years post graduation experience and current NHS experience is essential.

Main duties of the job
1. To work without supervision and maintain an agreed high standard of imaging.
2. To maintain a high standard of personal behaviour, involvement, dress, and responsibility.
3. Ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
4. To ensure patient care, dignity, and comfort always.
5. To alert the referrer or arrange provision for an urgent radiological report where the image suggests an untoward or unexpected diagnosis.
6. To be familiar with the principles of clinical governance and to strive to ensure and maintain high quality patient care.
7. To ensure correct use of equipment and to report all clinical incidents and faults to team lead and organise appropriate action to repair faults as soon as possible.
