Job summary
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, self motivated, well organised individual to work as a site Manager within our Inventory Management service.
We provide a Inventory Management Service on each of our 4 main sites within in the Trust and require an Inventory Manager to manager the Inventory Team across :
Wansbeck General Hospital,
Hexham General Hospital.
The post holder will be based at Wansbeck General Hospital and be expected to work across the 2 sites. Reporting into the Head of Operations you will be responsible and accountable for the Inventory Management service at 2 hospital sites to ensure the provision of an effective and efficient Inventory Management service across Wards/Department and Theatres environment within the hospital site.
Main duties of the job
To provide Inventory Management leadership to site-based teams and have accountability for optimizing inventory levels to achieve value for money and service improvement.
You will be responsible for sickness absence management, and compiling of staff rosters, staff appraisals, staff training and leading on any performance and disciplinary issues.
You will be expected to conduct effective staff 121 meetings to inform, engage and motivate IM staff. Establish a clear focus and direction for the team, ensuring all members understand their role within the department, and the Trust.
You will also be key point of contact liaising with clinical staff being visible, accessible, and co-ordinating all aspects of Inventory Management for the hospital site.
To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust.

Job responsibilities
To be responsible and accountable for the Inventory Management service for an identified hospital(s) site within the Trust, including the requirement to cover other sites as required.
To provide Inventory Management leadership to a site based team and have accountability for optimizing inventory levels to achieve value for money and service improvement.
To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries. Qualifications
Essential
1. Educated to undergraduate degree level or equivalent experience in inventory management & relevant specialist knowledge
2. Requirement to demonstrate leadership skills and behaviors gained from Team Leader/Operations Manager apprenticeship or equivalent level 3 qualification in leadership or relevant experience of effective leadership.
Desirable
3. Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) Level 3 or above qualification
