The Role
The purpose of this role is to develop and deliver the company’s integrated transport policy and strategy, building and strengthening partnerships with local authorities, other transport operators and other partners, to improve the end-to-end journey experience for customers. The role will champion and promote multi-modal journeys, improve station integrated transport facilities, spread best practice across the company, and ensure delivery of all our integrated transport obligations. Additionally, the role will help deliver customer, community and partnership initiatives that support projects led by other teams, particularly in Community Rail and Station Adoption.
Key accountabilities include:
1. Developing and delivering our Integrated Transport Strategy
2. Managing key partnerships and securing funding for projects to improve integrated transport links, ticketing and information
3. Optimising integrated transport policies and practices
4. Championing and embedding integrated transport practice within GA promoting benefits across the organisation, including with directors and managers
5. Enhancing partnerships with local authorities and supporting community rail and station adoption
6. Engaging with stakeholders, participating in media relations, and complying with GDPR policies.
Through collaboration with the Corporate Affairs team, the role will support wider business objectives and ensure effective communication and promotion of integrated transport initiatives.
What we are looking for
The ideal colleague will have a proven track record and experience in the fields of transport integration, travel planning, and development of multi-modal initiatives, ideally within a local authority or transport operator outside of the rail industry. They should possess the ability to develop strong relationship building and have networking skills as well as the ability to communicate confidently to a wide range of audiences. The candidate should have project management experience in delivering integrated transport outputs on time and within budget, as well as the ability to prioritize work within tight deadlines. They should also have demonstrated capacity to address complex problems in a changing work environment and produce reports to Board level standard. The ability to promote and market integrated transport initiatives and a proven track record of working on projects within a railway background would be beneficial.
