Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Residential Practitioner to join a team within a Children's Residential Home in Castleford. As a Senior Residential Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing care and support to children in residential child care, ensuring that they are loved, happy, healthy, safe from harm and able to develop, thrive and fulfil their potential. You will also be required to lead the team in the absence of the Registered Manager or Deputy Manager.
Salary - £34,812.34, with an increase upon the successful completion of your 6 month probationary period.
Working Hours - 56.5 hours per week, inclusive of sleeps (08:00-23:00 plus sleep and half an hour handover the next day 08:00-08:30).
Rota - shifts are based on a 3-week rolling rota, averaging at 10 shifts per month, equates to 244.5 hours per month.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
1. Assist children in residential child care to develop behaviourally, educationally and emotionally
2. Support children's emotional, mental and physical health needs
3. Work with the wider system of professionals for each child, and with children's families and communities of origin
4. Provide a safe, stimulating and loving environment for children
5. Carry out supervision reviews with RCP's on a regular basis and in line with the company's supervision protocols
Requirements
Qualification's, Skills and Experiences
6. Working towards or completed Level 4 diploma in Children's and Young People workforce,
7. Current, clean UK driving licence
8. Enhanced DBS
9. Right to Work in the UK
10. Minimum 2 years' experience in childcare or youth setting at RCP level and an understanding of the challenges young people and carers face within a residential care setting.
