Job Description
We are currently seeking a Senior Support Worker for our client who provides exceptional care within children's services. This role is ideal for an experienced professional looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and mentor a team of support workers, providing guidance and supervision
* Develop and implement individualised care plans for children, tailored to their specific needs
* Support children in their personal development, helping them build life skills and achieve their goals
* Ensure high standards of care and safeguarding are maintained
* Collaborate with other professionals, including social workers, teachers, and healthcare providers
* Conduct assessments and reviews, maintaining accurate records and documentation
* Participate in and contribute to the development of service policies and procedures
* Provide training and support to less experienced staff
Requirements
* Relevant qualifications in health and social care or a related field, such as a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
* Significant experience working in a support role within children's services
* Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role, including staff management and development
* Sound understanding of child development and safeguarding procedures
* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices, including the Children Act and Working Together to Safeguard Children
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
* Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting young people
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
* Full UK driving licence
