Advanced Practitioner (Trauma and Orthopaedics)

The post holder will work in accordance with the Trust Framework for Advanced Practice and their professional code of practice and legal frameworks such as non-medical prescribing and relevant imaging competencies.
Main duties of the job
As a key member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will be joining an exceptional team working together to help our patients stay healthy when they need it most. The post holder will be responsible for:
1. Working autonomously as an Advanced Practitioner within the Trauma & Orthopaedic Team and providing a high level of expertise to ensure patient-centred clinical care.
2. Exercising advanced clinical expertise, judgement, discretion, and decision making while undertaking assessment and examination to provide a diagnosis and formulate timely treatment plans within an agreed scope of practice.
3. Evaluating investigations and revising treatment plans according to patient need.
4. Assisting in the safe referral and discharge of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations in any areas of working.
5. Providing expert professional advice to patients, carers, and colleagues.
6. Monitoring and leading improvements to standards of care through supervision of practice, clinical audit, implementation of evidence-based practice, teaching, and support of colleagues.
7. Leading the implementation of new evidence-based practice and contributing to the development of evidence through research, audit, and collaboration with clinical or academic staff.
8. Contributing to clinical governance by leading quality improvement, audit, and research projects.
9. Role modeling the Trust's values and behaviours, demonstrating a person-centred approach to service delivery.
Weekly Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
