Responsibilities
To perform the duties of a Funeral Director
Meet with families, executors, solicitors, and representatives of the deceased to organise funerals, giving advice where appropriate
Communicate with team members concerning the deceased
To liaise with doctors, mortuary staff, coroner’s department, clergy, crematorium and cemetery authorities, gravediggers etc.
To provide funeral information and co-ordinate the relevant parties
To input funeral information on the company funeral admin system and produce invoices where appropriate
To follow-up the disposal of cremation ashes and memorial sales
To participate in the out-of-hours telephone calls
Take business calls from nursing homes and families about the removal of a deceased person
Any other relevant duties
Requirements
Previous experience of working in an office environment and managing people, particularly in an emotionally charged environment is essential
Any experience of working in a caring industry e.g., GP practices, health care settings is desirable
A-Level – business studies qualification or Funeral Directing Qualification
Good attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills
Computer literacy
Good English grammar – spelling and punctuation
