About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Tunnel Engineer to join our team on a prestigious project in North Wales. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in the successful delivery of this £200 million heavy Civil Engineering project.
The project involves the removal of existing pylons and the construction of 3.4km of tunnel to carry electricity cabling. You will be responsible for working on a 10-days on, 4-days off rotation (approximately 90 hours over a 2-week period). Our client offers accommodation/travel subsistence to employees to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Key Responsibilities
* Procure all necessary materials to support the programme of planned works, ensuring timely delivery and monitoring stock levels within your area of responsibility.
* Maintain a comprehensive understanding of subcontractors' scopes of work within your area, identifying and recording any changes or delays.
* Produce and issue technical queries to resolve design information discrepancies and distribute responses accordingly.
* Lead and manage junior staff, overseeing their workload to ensure seamless delivery of the project.
* Create and maintain a detailed look-ahead programme of all planned works, including subcontractors, which supports the contract programme.
* Regularly review progress against programme and identify areas of variance.
* Ensure all necessary permits, inductions, task briefs, and documentation are in place, approved, and briefed to relevant personnel before work commences.
* Develop and obtain approval of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), including those for subcontracted works.
* Generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) with proposed remedial actions for approval by others.
Requirements
* Prior experience as a TBM/Tunnel Engineer is essential.
* A valid CSCS card is mandatory.
* A solid understanding of commercial and contractual requirements is necessary.
* Excellent communication skills are vital for success in this role.
* An HND/HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering is required.

* A competitive salary range of £45,000 to £50,000 per annum, plus a 15% shift uplift (£51,750 to £57,500).
