Our DevOps Engineers maintain our cloud infrastructure to support our business applications, and enable rapid and automated deployment of code to support the efforts of the development teams.
* Alongside the tech leadership group to identify future tools and practices pertaining to CI/CD and our infrastructure.
* Support development teams in their delivery objectives, including during the design and planning stages.
* Act as a caretaker for existing cloud infrastructure and deployment tools.
The Lead DevOps Engineer manages a team of DevOps engineers and oversees the entire cloud infrastructure, ensuring security, stability, and continuous deployment effectiveness. In this leadership role, you’ll take ownership of cloud infrastructure, lead strategic DevOps initiatives, and foster a high-performing, highly collaborative team culture.
About the role
As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will:
* Manage a small team of DevOps engineers, providing them with mentorship and supporting their professional development.
* Lead our DevOps and Infrastructure function, taking ownership of the team's working practices, quality, and effectiveness.
* Work closely alongside the engineering leadership community to progress our infrastructure and deployment strategy, bringing new ideas and perspectives to discussions.
* Support development teams with their delivery objectives, participating in design, planning, and implementation.
* Monitor, maintain, and harden existing cloud infrastructure and deployment tools.
* Champion debate, collaboration, experimentation, and exploration, mentoring and coaching others to do the same.
* Take accountability for the team's success, growth, and health.
We work in a hybrid environment - from home and in our offices. However, face-to-face collaboration is important to us. You should expect to travel to our head office in Marlborough around once per month, depending on your location. Sometimes we collaborate in other locations, so UK and overseas travel may be necessary from time to time.

* Is well versed in observability and incident management.
Our technology
Our applications are built with a variety of languages, and our core tech stack right now is .Net, React, AWS.
We are re-platforming in Azure, and our DevOps engineers will play a critical role in helping to architect the way forwards.
Our platform uses a microservice architecture. We use GitHub Actions for CI and Kubernetes for our container orchestration.
